Peter Greer joined us on an online conversation about multiplying our impact by cooperating rather than competing.
People of faith and the organizations and churches we often represent are sometimes known for what we’re against. All too often that includes being against each other. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are part of a movement that has no end. We are on the same team. Let’s cheer each other on!

Presenter: Jeff Schulte

Peter is president and CEO of HOPE INTERNATIONAL, an international Christian ministry that provides discipleship opportunities, training, a safe place to save, and loans to people in poverty all over the world.

Peter has served throughout Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. He writes and speaks on the intersection of faith and international development. His favorite part of his job is spending time with the entrepreneurs HOPE serves— harvesting coffee with farmers in Rwanda, dancing alongside savings groups in Haiti, or visiting the greenhouses of entrepreneurs in Ukraine.

Peter has co-authored ten books, including Mission Drift, Rooting for Rivals, The Spiritual Danger of Doing Good and Created to Flourish.

What would it look like to take our eyes off ourselves and our own concerns? To simply think of ourselves less? To serve instead of focusing on self-preservation? To love just a little more and worry just a little less? How might our communities look different if we lived and loved with this outward focus? In this season, let’s give ourselves the gift of getting over ourselves and, in following our Savior’s example, choose to serve others with generous and sacrificial love.
