LIFE IN THE SPIRIT 2021

Everyone dreams, whether we remember it or not. In scripture, dreams play an important role in God communicating with his people. That still holds true today.

This year’s LIFE IN THE SPIRIT we will take a Judeo-Christian approach to the practice of dreamwork. First, we will see how dreaming is present in the bible and the early Church, and its roots in scientific and anthropological research. Then, using intuitions from Jungian mysticism and concrete examples from dream practitioners, we will introduce some dream exercises for individuals and groups. Finally, it will become clear that the ability to remember and engage with dreams promotes spiritual growth. Communities will be invited to consider the pertinence of dreamwork in various ministries, especially spiritual direction. Participants are encouraged to journal and be ready to share at least two of their own significant dreams.

This conference is for dreamers and non-dreamers of all ages. It will have application for individuals, communities, ministry and spiritual directors.

*We are limiting the number of people who can attend in order to have online small groups as a component of Fr. Daniel’s teaching. Registrants will be assigned their small groups during the conference. Each group will have a trained dream facilitator. For more information, visit our FAQ page.

.Fr. Daniel is an adjunct faculty at Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio, Texas. His interests lie in resilience, fulfilling our mission, spiritual healing of traumatic events and relationships, dreamwork and contemplative practices, and mysticism.

A note from our speaker Fr. Daniel Renaud, OMI —

I am an artist in the soul. I am passionate about learning and sharing with people to grow in maturity and love. I have ministered in Canada, the U.S. and Asia in various religious institutions in the Catholic Church and other Christian Churches.

My mission is to support people as they listen to God to stimulate inner work and service. It is about helping people develop their God-given vocation, mission, and purpose. As an itinerant preacher and former dram teacher, I love connecting with different communities, individuals, and other ministers who dedicate themselves to living spiritual lives with integrity.

My specialties include conferences, workshops, and retreats with an emphasis on psycho-spiritual integration, spiritual direction and the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius. I thrive on retreats and workshops focused on mysticism, shadow work, and dreams.”
